More than 15 young women from a range of academic and professional backgrounds took part in a training session on personal branding and creating impact at Tawakkol Karman Foundation’s headquarters in Istanbul on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026.
Organized by the Istanbul branch of the Yemeni Students Union in Türkiye with support from Tawakkol Karman Foundation, the session combined practical training with discussion and an exchange of experiences.
The program explored how participants can build a distinctive personal presence and media identity, communicate effectively and create meaningful content. It also examined ways to turn individual skills and abilities into a positive and lasting contribution to society.
A central focus of the session was helping young women develop greater confidence in their voices and ideas and approach their public presence with greater awareness and purpose. Participants discussed how a strong personal and media identity can help them articulate the issues they care about while reflecting their abilities and aspirations.
Media professionals Asia Thabet and Shaima Ameen joined the session, sharing insights from their experience in traditional and digital media. They offered practical guidance on building a media presence, engaging audiences, producing purposeful content and using digital platforms to communicate ideas and broaden their impact.
The session also gave participants space to ask questions and discuss challenges they have encountered in developing their personal and media presence and creating content. The exchange connected the training material with the participants’ own experiences, interests and professional goals.
The event forms part of broader efforts to equip young women with skills in media, communication and content creation, strengthening their ability to participate actively in public life and turn their ideas and talents into sustainable, positive impact."
