As part of its efforts to support cultural initiatives and promote closer ties between peoples, Tawakkol Karman Foundation is sponsoring and overseeing the Yemeni Cultural Day event, organized by the Yemeni Students Union in Türkiye – Sakarya Branch. The event will take place on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Nevzat Kor Salonu Conference Center in the Turkish city of Sakarya.
Held under the slogan, “Building bridges, sharing civilization,” the event reflects the role of culture as a shared human space for dialogue, mutual understanding, and strengthening connections between diverse peoples and cultures.
The Yemeni Cultural Day aims to introduce Yemen’s cultural identity and showcase the richness of its civilizational heritage through a diverse program featuring artistic, cultural, and traditional performances, alongside exhibitions and pavilions highlighting the details of authentic Yemeni life.
- The program includes several activities, most notably:
- An opening artistic performance titled “Story begins at Bab Al-Yemen.”
- Traditional and musical performances reflecting Yemen’s cultural diversity.
- “On Yemen’s Paths,” a visual journey through Yemeni cities.
- A panel discussion titled “Yemen Through Turkish Voices” to encourage cultural exchange.
- Live painting, theater, and Yemeni vocal performances.
Pavilions dedicated to Yemeni cuisine, traditional markets, and heritage storytelling.
The accompanying cultural exhibitions and pavilions will open at 3 p.m., while the main event is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
Tawakkol Karman Foundation said its sponsorship of the event stems from its belief in the importance of culture in promoting coexistence and human connection, as well as supporting youth-led initiatives that present a bright image of Yemen and its deep-rooted civilization.
The event is expected to attract a wide audience of students, academics, and those interested in cultural affairs, in addition to participants from various nationalities.
