Tawakkol Karman Foundation has announced the implementation of a new project to support education and empower girls in the Republic of Somalia, by providing 50 laptops to Dar Al-Aytam Girls’ Center in the Bontiri area of the capital, Mogadishu, fully funded by the foundation.
The foundation’s chairwoman, Tawakkol Karman, said this project marks the foundation’s first initiative in the Horn of Africa, confirming that it “will continue implementing similar developmental and educational projects in the region in the coming period.”
The project aims to empower orphaned students with modern technological skills, enhance their ability to use computers for learning, research, and digital skill development, and help bridge the digital gap among girls in orphan centers across Somalia.

Tawakkol Karman Foundation stated that the project will also improve the quality of education at the orphanage, enable the center to provide online training programs, and expand digital learning opportunities for resident girls.
Tawakkol Karman Foundation focuses its efforts on supporting education and empowering women and youth worldwide through impactful projects designed to build capacities and achieve sustainable development.
