Tawakkol Karman Foundation sponsors "My Career, My Power" initiative in Marib
Tawakkol Karman Foundation is sponsoring the "My Career, My Power" initiative in Marib governorate (eastern Yemen) as part of its 2024 "Musanada" program, which supports youth initiatives aimed at empowering Yemeni youth, fostering creativity, and driving community development.
The initiative was selected after a rigorous screening process by Tawakkol Karman Foundation, which reviewed over 600 proposals submitted for the "Musanada" program. This program provides financial and administrative support to ensure qualifying initiatives are effectively implemented and make a meaningful impact in their communities.
Targeting women and girls aged 15 to 35, the initiative focuses on training participants in mobile phone repair to enhance their economic empowerment, combating cyber extortion by equipping women and girls with necessary skills, and creating new and sustainable job opportunities for women in the tech sector.
The "Musanada" program, which has supported numerous initiatives in previous years, focuses on empowering Yemeni youth across the governorates of Taiz, Marib, Al-Mahra, Shabwa, Lahj, and the cities of Mukalla and Sayun in Hadramout. Its core areas include education, economic empowerment, social cohesion, and mine clearance in Yemen.
Since its launch in 2022, the "Musanada" program has funded several youth-led initiatives in Taiz, Marib, Aden, and Hadramout. These initiatives have spanned fields such as education, art, environmental sustainability, and empowering individuals with special needs.
