Tawakkol Karman Foundation sponsors "Sports for Peace" initiative in Hadramout
Tawakkol Karman Foundation is sponsoring the "Sports for Peace" initiative in Sayun, Hadramout governorate (eastern Yemen), as part of its "Musanada" program, which supports youth initiatives aimed at empowering Yemeni youth, fostering creativity, and driving community development.
The initiative was selected following a rigorous screening process by Tawakkol Karman Foundation, which reviewed over 600 proposals submitted for the "Musanada" program. The program provides financial and administrative support to selected initiatives, ensuring they are implemented effectively and make a meaningful impact in their communities.
Taking place across various sports venues in the Maramiyah neighborhood of Sayun, the initiative targets young people and diverse social groups. Its goal is to promote mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence among youth through sports activities.
The "Musanada" program, which has supported numerous initiatives over the past years, focuses on empowering Yemeni youth in the governorates of Taiz, Marib, Al-Mahra, Shabwa, Lahj, and the cities of Mukalla and Sayun in Hadramout. Its areas of focus include education, economic empowerment, social cohesion, and mine clearance in Yemen.
Since its launch in 2022, the "Musanada" program has funded numerous youth initiatives in the governorates of Taiz, Marib, Aden, and Hadramout, spanning fields such as education, art, the environment, and empowering people with disabilities.
