Tawakkol Karman Foundation has launched a project to establish a perfume shop for a displaced family in the governorate of Al-Mahra. The family hails from the governorate of Al-Hodeidah and was forced to flee after the outbreak of war in Yemen. One of the family's sons, Ibrahim, suffered from a permanent mobility impairment caused by a bone condition, which he contracted at the age of five. Ibrahim continued to sell perfumes on the streets of Al-Mahra, using his mobile cart to try to ease the burden on his family in providing for their livelihood.
Tawakkol Karman Fondation's Haith Al-Insan team learned of Ibrahim's story and his struggle, and decided to help him by establishing a perfume shop. However, before the project could be completed, the team was surprised by a phone call informing them that Ibrahim had suffered from kidney failure and passed away as a result of the illness.
