The ongoing war has afflicted Yemen for six years, and it has caused severe damage to the educational system on all levels. The war caused a tremendous loss of opportunities for individuals, the destruction of facilities created new struggles to sustain the educational operation in Yemen and it has affected students and teachers alike.
Young children who migrate with their parents to countries that differ in language and culture face communicative and linguistic difficulties, especially in primary schools. Arab children, who have moved to settle in Turkey with their families, face academic difficulties in school. They have a hard time reading and writing in the Turkish language. The language barrier hinders their understanding of the subject syllabus and often they seek the assistance of either a private teacher or a specialized institute to help them understand and write their schoolwork, and these solutions are of a high cost.
TKF awarded 963 grants for the 3rd batch of the Intensive English Diploma to students from eight nationalities. Following the success of more than 1,500 young people in the first and second batches of the Intensive English Diploma, TKF announces its 3rd batch through its program Leaders for the Future and in cooperation with the English Castle Institute.
Applications opened for the third batch of the Intensive English Language Diploma scholarship, which falls under the Leaders for the Future program. And due to the substantial number of applicants which amounted to 4,587 applicants who completed all the required documents and data, TKF decided to increase the number of scholarships from 300 to 900.
