TKF visits Central African Republic in corporation With FAO
The civil war has resulted in a dire humanitarian crisis, with the destruction of essential infrastructure, massive displacements, and armed groups controlling 70% of the nation's territory. The project’s primary objective is to reinforce the reconciliation process within communities by training youth leaders who are tasked with promoting messages of coexistence and peace. It also involves organizing meetings between sector representatives of the communities to facilitate dialogue and mutual understanding.
This project is particularly symbolic for the communities affected by the brutal conflicts, representing a crucial opportunity to test a peaceful strategy that could be replicated in similar conflicts worldwide. In line with this project, members of the Tawakkol Karman Foundation completed their official mission in the Central African Republic from March 6th to 9th, 2019. During their visit, they met with the FAO Country Representative and discussed the necessary requirements with local leaders and community representatives to develop a comprehensive syllabus for the project activities.
This collaborative effort between TKF and FAO highlights a significant step towards rebuilding and stabilizing communities through education, dialogue, and youth empowerment in one of the world's most challenging conflict zones.
