TKF launches its aid program for year 2018
"As if they live in a large person," this description applies to the residents of Taiz. The city has been under the brunt of war for more than three years. Its residents became victims of the triple bombing, hunger, and siege. Today the city is overcrowded with hundreds of thousands of poor people.
Rural residents travel through rugged roads and take hours to reach the city instead of utilizing the main roads they used to take before the siege. The harshness of those unpaved roads led to the doubling of transport prices. Additionally, the significant increase in the freight of various goods arriving in the city ultimately increased food prices.
Extending its previous aid campaigns and in response to humanitarian calls, TKF implemented an intensive humanitarian campaign targeting multiple areas in the governorate, especially the most affected ones, such as the Al Shaqib area in the mountain of Saber, from extreme poverty.
In this campaign, the first Deputy Governor of Taiz, Qawi Al-Mikhlafi, participated where TKF distributed nearly 700 food baskets worth 10 million Yemeni riyals to meet the needs of the villages of Al-Rahm, Al-Najada, Kahlan, Yamen, and Al-Juhainbi.
TKF is active in hot places based on its values of advocating, helping, and alleviating human suffering. It is the first humanitarian institution to reach those villages and provide relief to the population despite the ongoing conflict.
