Tawakkol Karman Foundation has completed seven education projects across Shabwa governorate between 2019 and 2025 under its humanitarian program, Haith Al-Insan. The projects included the construction of new schools and the expansion of existing facilities, as part of the Foundation’s efforts to improve learning environments, widen access to education and strengthen Yemen’s education infrastructure.
The projects included the construction of Belqees Basic Education School in the village of Amqadah, Al-Fari’ah Al-Ulya Basic Education School and Shamrakhin School in the Nisab and Markhah Al-Ulya districts, as well as Belqees Al-Faliq School. Together, the new facilities have increased schools’ capacity to serve more students while providing safer and more suitable learning environments.
The Foundation also expanded Nisab School for Boys, Nisab School for Girls and Al-Shuaib School in Wadi Abdan. These improvements have helped ease classroom overcrowding, strengthen education services and create better conditions for both students and teachers.
The projects reflect Tawakkol Karman Foundation’s commitment to investing in education as a cornerstone of sustainable development and human empowerment. Through Haith Al-Insan, the Foundation carries out sustainable development projects that respond to the needs of local communities and improve quality of life across Yemen’s governorates.
The Foundation believes that providing safe, well-equipped schools is a long-term investment in future generations. Access to quality education gives children and young people the knowledge and skills they need to contribute to their communities and help build a more stable and prosperous future.
Tawakkol Karman Foundation continues to implement humanitarian and development projects across several sectors, with education remaining a central priority. The Foundation views the construction and rehabilitation of schools as an essential foundation for human development and sustainable progress.
