Tawakkol Karman Foundation has wrapped up the seventh season of its annual Haith Al-Insan program by implementing 29 humanitarian and development projects across eight Yemeni governorates. These efforts aim to support communities most affected by war and to strengthen education, health, development, and economic empowerment sectors.
The projects were carried out in Taiz, Lahj, Marib, Hadramout, Al-Mahrah, Abyan, Shabwah, and Socotra, covering a range of key areas including education, services for people with disabilities, water and agriculture, health, and initiatives targeting children and women.
Education: Infrastructure and opportunity
In the education sector, the foundation built the Belqees Educational Complex in Taiz, a new school in Wadi Naqb in Hadramout, and a literacy center in Badu Al-Nawahi, located in the Brom Mayfa’ district. A new school was also constructed in Al-Faleq, Shabwah. In addition, the computer lab at Taiz University was refurbished and equipped with modern devices, and the student dormitory for female university students was rehabilitated.
Inclusive support for people with disabilities
In line with its commitment to inclusive empowerment, the program funded the Al-Musayni’ah Cooling and Air Conditioning Complex in Shabwah, provided a transport bus for the Irada Center for Intellectual Disabilities in Hadramout, supported the Irada Physical Therapy Center in Taiz, and financed a small grocery store business in Tuban, Lahj.
Water and agriculture: Toward food and water security
In the water and agriculture sectors, the program supported the water project in Al-Mahwasa village in Abyan, rehabilitated the Al-Ikhwa farm in the same governorate, and established a plant nursery called Taybah in Taiz to support agricultural livelihoods and promote water sustainability.
Health: Meeting medical needs
Health interventions included the renovation of the doctors’ residence at the Al-Faydami Health Center and the construction of a new health unit in Al-Mahrah, in an effort to boost access to primary healthcare.
Children: Culture, entertainment, and mobile learning
In Marib, the foundation launched Dreams on Screen, a mobile cinema experience for children, and inaugurated the governorate’s first mobile library for children, aiming to foster a love of reading and broaden young minds through cultural and educational initiatives.

Haith Al-Insan is an annual program by Tawakkol Karman Foundation. Since its inception, it has implemented over 203 projects across 13 Yemeni governorates, benefiting more than 120,000 people. Each project is documented in televised episodes aired every Ramadan on Belqees TV, highlighting stories of transformation and the program’s impact on the lives of its beneficiaries.
