With these words, Omar Al-Tuwaiti recounts how Leaders for Future scholarship from Tawakkol Karman Foundation changed his life.

Omar says:

My experience with the English language scholarship program offered by Tawakkol Karman Foundation has been truly exceptional. From the moment I received the acceptance email for this scholarship, at a time when I was desperately in need of improving my English, I realized what a significant opportunity this was. I was about to complete my university studies, which were in Arabic, creating a gap between me and the development of my English language skills.

My proficiency in English has improved dramatically, as has my self-confidence. I am now able to prepare for the TOEFL exam, which will open up better opportunities for me in the near future. I am almost at the final level of the English diploma program, the TOEFL preparation course, and I will soon take the TOEFL exam.

Studying English has been a strong addition to my CV. I have been able to apply for scholarships that require a specific level of English using the certificate from the highest level I have reached in the English diploma. Additionally, the Work Skills Diploma has sharpened my ability to apply for and seize opportunities, which motivated me to apply for many job positions. It has also encouraged me to start planning for my own project, utilizing the necessary tools and skills for success.

I feel joy and a sense of nostalgia for the beautiful moments I experienced in this program, moments that can never be replaced, as it was a unique and exceptional experience. I also feel grateful for how my life has changed for the better, not only in terms of English proficiency but also because I’ve built valuable relationships that have helped me in various fields, thanks to the diversity of students’ academic and professional backgrounds. My outlook on my future is now more optimistic and positive than before I had this opportunity, and I am more ambitious about achieving greater accomplishments in the near future.

The additional training in the program is just as important as the English diploma itself. The most important thing I gained from it was the love of research and exploring important topics to raise my awareness, acquire knowledge, and educate myself. The accompanying courses covered highly relevant topics for us as young people and inspired us to dive deeper into them. These courses, presented in an enjoyable, engaging, and professional way, were an essential and significant addition. They ignited curiosity, deep thinking, and the pursuit of information. This is also a valuable addition to my CV.
