Tawakkol Karman Foundation
From research skills to teaching her family: Hadeel Al-Afouri shares her transformation with Leaders for Future program
"I became an English teacher for my family thanks to studying the program."
Hadeel Al-Afouri shares how Leaders for Future scholarship from Tawakkol Karman Foundation helped her grow academically and personally.
Hadeel says:
The English language scholarship offered by Tawakkol Karman Foundation gave me the opportunity to meet many teachers and friends from different nationalities, which in itself was a great gain. The gradual development of the language has greatly helped me in dealing with my friends and teachers, and I will notice even more of this actual development during the upcoming courses of the program.
In my university studies, I had to prepare many research papers and texts in English, and my study of this program has greatly helped me in this. I also have several courses in my field of study that are taught in English, and studying this program has been a turning point in my understanding of these subjects.
Through the exercises accompanying the program, I learned many terms whose meanings I was unaware of, and I became familiar with many concepts related to human rights. The training related to the job market was also very enjoyable and distinctive. I hope that such training will continue in the upcoming periods so that we can gain the maximum benefit. I am very interested in attending these sessions multiple times to ensure that I fully grasp all the information and benefits within them, hoping that they will assist and benefit me in the future, God willing.
I am still in the middle of the program, and I am filled with hope and enthusiasm to continue it until the end. I am also interested in watching English films and content on digital platforms, and I find it fairly easy to understand their content. I hope that the program will not end until I am at a high level of proficiency in using English, so I can apply that in my professional and career life.
