Tawakkol Karman Foundation funded a woman to open her project to sustain her children after she struggled by selling samosas in Ibb Governorate.
Om Faris provides for three children by selling the samosas that she makes in her home, in front of a school, in Ibb. She wakes up at dawn to make the samosas dough and finishes it at ten o’clock. She is not allowed to enter the school and has to sell the samosa beside the gate on the street until noon time. To provide for the rent of the apartment and the schooling expenses for her three children.
Om Faris says: "My daily income is between 500-800 riyals only," and hardly reaches 1,000 riyals, noting that she is striving to raise and educate her children, despite the difficult circumstances.
Om Faris often fails to sell the number of samosas, which prompts her to send her child to sell them on the street after his evening studies, and she indicated that she sometimes eats only one meal a day with her children.
Tawakkol Karman Foundation has provided Om Faris with a store and equipped it with cooking equipment, utensils, shelves, and a solar energy system to sell falafel and sandwiches in addition to other food products.
Om Fares told "Haith Al-Insan" program, which is broadcast on Belqees channel during the month of Ramadan, that this project was a distant dream, and when she wakes up now and remembers that she has this project, she cannot go back to sleep overwhelmed with joy.
The shop project is part of Tawakkol Karman Foundation's development program "Haith Al-Insan", which is presented by Belqees channel during the month of Ramadan.
