Tawakkol Karman Foundation will host a photo event and exhibition titled "Yemen Through a Swedish Lens" on July 6-7, 2024, at the Taksim Cultural and Arts Center in Istanbul, Turkey.

The event aims to showcase the captivating beauty and cultural richness of Yemen through the lens of Dr. Björn Wenngren, a Swedish doctor renowned for his extensive collection of photographs taken in Yemen from the 1970s to the 1980s.

During the event, Dr. Wenngren will provide insights into the historical and cultural context of the photographs, offering a deeper understanding of Yemen's past and present.

The event seeks to reintroduce Yemen beyond the aftermath of war, highlighting it as a country rich in culture and history, thereby supporting Yemenis in reclaiming this ideal image and overcoming the impacts of conflict.
