Tawakkol Karman Foundation has helped over 50 children with special needs regain their ability to stand and walk in Marib Governorate, northeastern Yemen, giving them renewed hope for a better life.
The foundation provided physical therapy devices, occupational therapy tools, and crucial equipment for treating children to "Marib Rehabilitation Center," which offers therapy for children with cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, speech disorders, communication difficulties, and stuttering.
Hamed Al-Samei established the specialized center for rehabilitating children with special needs in Marib city after returning from Egypt to continue his son Mohammed's rehabilitation. This was crucial to prevent his health from deteriorating after the treatment in Egypt, especially since there is no physical therapy center in Marib city.
The equipment provided by Tawakkol Karman Foundation will ensure these children receive the assistance they need to navigate their journey, contribute to their communities, and return to school with renewed vigor.
Hamed Al-Samei, the center's founder, inaugurated the project provided by Tawakkol Karman Foundation, expressing his gratitude for their support. They were the sole supporter, providing essential devices the center lacked, which will significantly aid the children in their treatment.
This effort is part of the annual "Haith Al-Insan" program by Tawakkol Karman Foundation, comprising 30 humanitarian and developmental projects focusing on education, health, and economic empowerment. Its aim is to offer support and assistance to the most affected populations by the war across various Yemeni governorates.
