Tawakkol Karman Foundation has executed a project for the benefit of a wounded young woman in the city of Taiz (southwestern Yemen), empowering her to return to her old dream of becoming a doctor to heal others' wounds. Nuha Saleh was shot by a sniper bullet from the Houthi militia, resulting in a severe injury that caused her permanent disability, nearly extinguishing all her hopes. After some time, Nuha's sister, Taima, also fell victim to a sniper's bullet, hitting her spinal cord and nearly taking her life, were it not for fate's kindness and her heart returning to beat after the treating doctor had informed her brother that she had died. Sabah and her sister Taima stopped studying at the elementary level, but Sabah did not give up on her dream of continuing her education to become a doctor to heal others' pains and wounds. Tawakkol Karman Foundation established a fully equipped store to sell food items and spices, providing Sabah with all the necessary supplies to achieve her lifelong dream. Sabah and her sister Taima received training from specialists on the process of buying and selling and how to study market variables. Sabah expressed her extreme joy upon being informed of the project idea, saying, "I feel like my heart will stop. I couldn't believe that I would own a project and start my life from scratch. Thank you, Tawakkol Karman Foundation." This comes within the framework of the annual "Haith Al-Insan" program implemented by Tawakkol Karman Foundation, which includes 30 humanitarian projects in key development areas: education, healthcare, development, and economic empowerment, aimed at providing support and assistance to the populations most affected by the war in various Yemeni governorates.
