Tawakkol Karman Foundation has realized the dream of dozens of children and a struggling family in one of the displacement camps in Marib Governorate (northeast Yemen).
Thousands of families reside in Al-Noor camp in the Jaw Al-Naseem area of Marib Governorate, where children lack a place to enjoy their time and are deprived of visiting playgrounds like their peers.
Also living in the camp is Um Bashair and her family, who were displaced from Al-Hudaydah Governorate. The woman took on various jobs to provide for her husband's medical treatment, who remained bedridden for ten years until his passing.
The foundation established a playground for children to engage in recreational activities, aiming to alleviate their stress. Additionally, a kiosk was set up for the displaced Um Bashair, equipped with food, beverages, and children's toys, to serve as a source of income for her. This support enables her to reintegrate her 13-year-old daughter into school, after she had to drop out due to their difficult living conditions.
This initiative is part of the annual Haith Al-Insan program implemented by Tawakkol Karman Foundation, comprising 30 humanitarian projects in key development areas such as education, health, and economic empowerment. The program aims to provide support and assistance to the most affected populations of the war in various Yemeni governorates.
