Tawakkol Karman Foundation funded the establishment of a mobile theater hall for a theatrical troupe of people with disabilities in the temporary capital, Aden (South Yemen), after many doors were closed to them.
The 'Mashael Aden' theater troupe was founded in 2021 by members of the Association for Care and Rehabilitation of the Physically Impaired in Aden. Despite limited resources, they deliver purposeful theatrical performances addressing societal issues, affirming that physical disability will not hinder creativity.
The foundation constructed a mobile theater hall for the troupe and equipped it with modern sound systems, enabling the troupe to showcase their theatrical works anywhere.
Ali Ghaleb, the head of the 'Mashael Aden' troupe, expressed profound gratitude to Tawakkol Karman Foundation for their swift response in realizing a dream they had hoped for years to materialize. He noted that many governmental and private entities had shut their doors to the troupe, which only requested modest support.
This initiative is part of the annual Haith Al-Insan program implemented by Tawakkol Karman Foundation, encompassing 30 humanitarian projects in key development areas such as education, health, development, and economic empowerment. It aims to provide support and assistance to the most affected populations of the war in various Yemeni governorates.
