Tawakkol Karman Foundation fulfilled the dream of a woman in Asabih isolation in the Shumaytin district of Taiz Governorate and helped her triumph over the harsh conditions. "Amira Al-Asbahi", who displaced from Hajjah in 2015 to Sana'a and then to Taiz, bore the burdens of her family alone, fought her battle in life, and gave everything she had for her family.
Amira's husband fell ill suddenly, and due to the high costs incurred to travel from her father's house to the hospital, she was forced to leave her father's house and live in a makeshift, almost dilapidated clinic near the asphalt road leading to the city of Turba. Amira works on a daily wage, buys medicine for her husband, and during holidays, works in a salon, sometimes in distant places, and began building a house for herself, starting with buying stones, then building the foundation. The construction of Amira's house was not completed, and she wished to complete it so that she could find shelter for herself and her daughters, considering it a dream she hoped would come true in reality.
Tawakkol Karman Foundation realized Amira's dream, completed the construction of her house, and established a project of her own, and during the construction process, she was enrolled in the training program dedicated to beneficiaries of the projects. Amira Al-Asbahi's family left the clinic where she had been forced to stay for years, and moved into a fully built home, part of which was dedicated to her preferred work.
This comes within the framework of the annual "Haith Al-Insan" program implemented by Tawakkol Karman Foundation, which includes 30 humanitarian and developmental projects in key areas of development: education, health, and economic empowerment, aiming to provide support and assistance to the most affected populations by the war in various Yemeni governorates.
