Tawakkol Karman Foundation implemented a project to restore and rehabilitate Al-Ihsan School in the Sabr Al-Mawadim district in Taiz Governorate.

Student Thuwaiba Al-Kamali, says that Al-Ihsan School lacks the most basic needs for the schooling process, and she described her daily trip to school as if she was going to prison, noting the lack of chairs where students sit on the ground, expressing her dissatisfaction with the building that is devoid of even paint.

Teacher Ibtisam Farhan says that the school accommodates approximately 900 students in the morning and evening shifts, which represents a student density that exceeds the current capacity of the school.

Students sit on the ground during lessons, as they have been for ten years, and the school's facilities are not ready.

According to teacher Ibtisam, the teachers were forced to use the school staircase as their office because there was no office for the teachers, who share with the students the same suffering and the same hopes that the school will be an encouraging environment for education.

Tawakkol Karman Foundation has renovated and painted Al-Ihsan School provided chairs for its classrooms and furniture for school facilities, and decorated it with colors and pictures that give students the impression of a better schooling environment.

This project is part of Tawakkol Karman Foundation projects through Haith Al-Insan program, Season 3, which is presented by Belqees channel during Ramadan.
