TKF establishes shop and tailoring business for immigrant family in Taiz
Tawakkol Karman Foundation established a store and a women's tailoring shop for a family that immigrated from Dhamar and settled in the Old Airport neighborhood in Taiz Governorate.
Om Ashwaq and her family immigrated from Dhamar city due to her husband's health conditions, which have worsened due to the cold weather in Dhamar. She chose Taiz as a new destination for her family, and her husband's sister joined her with her children to live in Taiz.
Om Ashwaq has been working as a volunteer teacher for five years at Al-Mithaq School in Taiz. She has skills in sewing and embroidery, but she was unable to work in this field because of her inability to provide the required equipment.
Om Ashwaq dreams of having a small business that will help her support her family and provide medicines and treatment for her sick husband, as well as the needs of the 12 family members.
Tawakkol Karman Foundation has fulfilled the dream of Om Ashwaq by opening a small business in which the women of the family can work, consisting of a store that sells women's clothing, sewing and embroidery equipment.
With this project, which was implemented by the Foundation, the women of the family became productive and turned the page of pain and opened new pages of hope.
The tailoring shop and clothes project is part of Tawakkol Karman Foundation's development program "Haith Al-Insan”, which is shown by Belqees channel during the month of Ramadan.
