Tawakkol Karman Foundation provides bus and supplies to school for the blind
Tawakkol Karman Foundation has provided the needs of students at Daroob Al-Khair School for the Blind in Al-Qahirah District, Taiz Governorate.
The blind child, Hanan, said that she finds it difficult to move to school, and her brother is forced to take her daily by public transportation, noting that there is another suffering that awaits her when she arrives at school because there are not enough chairs or toys.
The principal of Doroob Al-Khair School, Sufyan Ahmed, stated that this school is the only one in the region, and 65 male and female students come to it in the primary and secondary stages. Despite the few numbers, their needs have not been met, indicating that the biggest obstacle remains the inability to transport students to and from the school because there is no bus of its own.
The blind teacher, Hadeel Al-Hammadi, described the Braille machine as the eye of the blind and indicated that the school lacks the most important needs of the students, and without a Braille machine, students will not be able to learn to read and write.
Tawakkol Karman Foundation provided a bus for Doroob Al-Khair School for the Blind, school chairs, tools, figures, educational tools, and distribute a set of games to the school’s students.
The Foundation also provided Braille machines through which Hanan and her colleagues will see their way into the future.
This school project for the blind school is part of Tawakkol Karman Foundation's development program "Haith Al-Insan”, which is shown by Belqees channel during the month of Ramadan.
