Tawakkol Karman Foundation supports displaced peoples in Mukalla (Hadramout, Yemen)
Tawakkol Karman Foundation helped the Buish IDPs camp in Mukalla, Hadramout, which suffers from an acute shortage of necessities.
Buish camp for the internally displaced - 2 km from the city of Mukalla - accommodates about 350 displaced people, most of whom are from Tihama, who left their homes because of the war and the bombing of their villages and cities.
The camp lacks the most basic health and living standards. According to Om Rami, a resident of the camp, there is one bathroom for every 5 families, and these bathrooms are without basins and without doors, which causes a lot of trouble and diseases.
Saeed Hindi, one of the displaced in Buish camp, says that the war and his fear for his children from the bombing is the reason for his displacement from his home, adding that; “we suffer from difficult living conditions in this camp. We suffer from the lack of water, food, and medicine, we suffer from everything.”
Hamid Bakhamis, the officer in charge of Buish IDPs camp, says that this camp was built about two years ago and that he is working to receive the displaced and provide them with tents.
Bakhmis adds that the camp lacks many of the necessary and basic needs.
Tawakkol Karman Foundation, through the "Haith Al-Insan” program, decided to extend a helping hand by building three additional bathrooms, connecting them to sewage, supplying the camp with water tanks, removing forests, and filling in swamps.
The assistance provided to the IDP camp is part of Tawakkol Karman Foundation development program "Haith Al-Insan” shown by Belqees channel during Ramadan.
