Tawakkol Karman Foundation Develops Water Spring (Raima, Yemen)
The village suffers, according to one of the residents of al-Maghraba village in Kusma, Raima governorate, from the lack of basic services, especially water and schools, and it is an agricultural area that lacks water.
One of the villagers says: The village does not have the necessary funds, for example, to build a water project.
Epidemics are spreading in the village, especially cholera.
Al-Maghraba village is inhabited by 400 people who have no drinking water except distant springs for which they compete with livestock, according to a resident of the village.
He adds: Children fetch the stagnant water from the disease-contaminated spring, and we drink from it with the animals.
Tawakkol Karman Foundation contributed to the renovate the only spring in the village and worked to build a reservoir to separate people's drinking water from animals' drinking water.
One of the village men says: We thank you for your assistance to the village through this work. It has positive results, and provides clean water, and saves time and effort.
Another villager says: With the project of Tawakkol Foundation through “Haith Al-Insan” program which is broadcasted by Belqees channel in the month of Ramadan, we feel alive now, we thank you for that.
