Hatay, Türkiye — On Monday, May 22, 2023, Tawakkol Karman Foundation handed over fifty mobile homes to the earthquake victims in Hatay province, eastern Turkey.
On February 12 of this year, the foundation announced that, through the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), it would provide 50 mobile homes to those who lost their homes due to the earthquake in Turkey. This falls within the framework of the foundation's relief and emergency response programs for areas affected by conflicts, wars, and natural disasters.
It is worth mentioning that the Yemeni flag was placed on each housing unit as a symbol of Yemeni solidarity with their Turkish brothers and sisters.
On February 16, 2023, Tawakkol Karman Foundation sent a relief convoy to the affected people in Hatay, one of the most impacted regions by the earthquake. This was followed by another relief convoy sent to northern Syria.
On February 6, 2023, Tawakkol Karman Foundation announced its contribution of one million Turkish liras to support the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
It should be noted that on Monday, February 6, a devastating earthquake measuring 7.7 magnitude struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, followed by another earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 after a few hours, along with hundreds of violent aftershocks. These events resulted in significant loss of life and property in both countries.
