Tawakkol Karman Foundation has built a new house for a displaced family in the district of Marakha, Shabwa Governorate. The family had settled in Shabwa after the head of the family, Abdulaziz, had traveled to several governorates in search of work.
Abdulaziz had lost his hand in a previous traffic accident, and one of his daughters suffers from a disability. They all lived in a small mud house. Despite the hardships, Abdulaziz initiated several educational initiatives in Shabwa and continued to struggle to support his family and provide medical care for his disabled daughter. Tawakkol Karman Foundation adopted a project to build a new house for Abdulaziz's family, equipped with full furnishings and a solar-powered lighting system. They also built a sheep barn near the house, enabling the family to live in better conditions than before.
