Tawakkol Karman Foundation has implemented a project to rehabilitate the radiology department at "Martyr Salah Nasser Mohammed" hospital located in Al-Mahfad district of Abyan governorate in southern Yemen. The hospital, which is the only one in the district and serves more than 40,000 people, has not been rehabilitated since its opening in the 1980s.
Due to lack of working equipment, doctors are often forced to refer dozens of cases to hospitals in Shabwa and Aden governorates, which are hundreds of kilometers away from Al-Mahfad.
To eliminate forced trips to other governorates, the Tawakkol Karman Foundation rehabilitated the radiology department by providing it with a new X-ray machine that meets the latest medical specifications.
