On Thursday, June 27, 2024, the Tawakkol Karman Foundation held an event in Istanbul to launch the "Jusoor" program, which aims to support projects of Yemeni student unions and clubs in Türkiye. The inauguration event, attended both in person at the foundation's headquarters and via Zoom by 20 Yemeni student organizations in Turkey, showcased the operational mechanism and goals of the "Jusoor" program, as well as the application process for the projects it will support. The "Jusoor" program aims to enhance the participation of Yemeni youth in the development process, promote cultural and educational activities among Yemeni students, and strengthen communication and interaction among them. This will be achieved by funding and organizing a range of activities and initiatives that reflect the foundation's vision and support its areas of work. Additionally, the program aims to support and bolster the activities of Yemeni students studying in Turkey, enhance cultural and intellectual engagement among students, and build an interactive network of students who share the foundation's values and goals. The program will target the General Union of Yemeni Students in Turkey, the subsidiary unions of Yemeni students in various Turkish cities, totaling more than 30 unions, cultural, intellectual, and reading clubs for Yemeni students, and Yemeni student forums in Turkey. It is noteworthy that Tawakkol Karman Foundation is an endowment organization striving to be a leading global model in civil work and peacebuilding through the development of local communities, education, health, economic empowerment, and enabling women to take on leadership roles in their communities, while respecting the cultural specifics of each community. Tawakkol Karman Foundation considers democracy, governance, and the promotion of a culture of respect for human rights as essential factors in bringing about tangible change in people's lives and ways of thinking.
