Tawakkol Karman Foundation has implemented a project to restore and expand Al-Aqla School in Al-Jouba District, Marib Governorate, which serves students in Ya’ara and the neighboring villages.
The small school receives students from the first grade of primary school until the sixth grade only, and those who want to continue their education move to another far school, which forced most students to drop out, especially girls.
Reem says that she dreams of becoming a doctor, but she was unable to continue her secondary and high school because the nearby school is unable to accommodate students beyond the sixth grade.
Zabin Allah Al-Rashdi, head of the parents' council, says that the students stop schooling in the sixth grade because of the small size of the school and that there are no nearby schools, as the nearest school is about 5 kilometers away.
Tawakkol Karman Foundation built 3 classrooms in Al-Uqla School, renovated the old classrooms, and provided school chairs so that all students who had to stop studying could return to school and continue their schooling.
The student, Reem, says that she felt as if she was reborn because she will return to school after the expansion of the school to accommodate a larger number of students and thus more stages of schooling.
This project is part of Tawakkol Karman Foundation projects through the third season of Haith Al-Insan program, which is presented Belqees channel during Ramadan.
