Tawakkol Karman Foundation has successfully implemented a project to dig three agricultural wells in the Broom Mifa'a area of Hadramout governorate. This region has been hit by recurring droughts, leading many farmers to abandon their land. However, three families have remained in the area, as farming is their only profession and they are deeply connected to their land.
Despite their struggles to provide for their livelihoods, these families were forced to leave farming due to the high cost of water for irrigating their crops. Instead, they turned to collecting firewood and selling it to neighboring villages. Recognizing the plight of these families, the team at Haith Al-Insan took action and dug three agricultural wells near their farms. Additionally, they provided the families with the necessary tools to resume their farming profession and improve their living conditions.
The project has already made a significant impact on the lives of these families, as they are now able to return to their preferred profession and live a better life than before.
