Tawakkol Karman Foundation implemented a project for a physiotherapy center in the rural area of Duba’a in the Al-Shamayatain district of Taiz governorate. The project came as an extension of an idea started by a woman who was traveling daily with her child for treatment, who suffers from a physical disability, from the Duba’a area to Al-Turbah city. According to Mervet Al-Dubai’, the lady who was behind the idea of establishing the center, which she named “Shu’a’ Al-Amal Center” and becoming its director, the number of beneficiaries from the center has reached 500 medical cases since its establishment in 2016.
Mervet Al-Dubai’ says that the cases that receive physiotherapy treatment in the center come from all the districts and neighboring areas, and it is the first physiotherapy center in a rural area in Taiz Governorate, and despite the importance of the center, it lacks much equipment.Faisal Al-Hammadi, one of the beneficiaries of the center, said that he used to go to Al-Turba city to receive treatment after suffering a stroke for the third time, but he was no longer able to afford the daily expenses of travel and treatment, as his health condition worsened.
When Al-Hammadi heard of the free services provided by Shu’a’ Al-Amal center, in a nearby area, he resumed his physiotherapy treatment.The Tawakkol Karman Foundation intervened to expand and develop the center, and provided medical equipment, sports devices for physiotherapy, medical beds, and furniture for the center, in addition to painting and decorating the center.

When Al-Hammadi heard of the free services provided by Shu’a’ Al-Amal center, in a nearby area, he resumed his physiotherapy treatment. And his health improved, and was able to see with his right eye and speak. He also became able to move some of his limbs irregularly.
The Tawakkol Karman Foundation intervened to expand and develop the center, and provided medical equipment, sports devices for physiotherapy, medical beds, and furniture for the center, in addition to painting and decorating its walls with drawings.
The project of equipping the physiotherapy center in the Duba’a area in Taiz comes as part of the series of projects implemented by the Tawakkol Karman Foundation development program "Haith Al-Insan" for the fourth season, which was broadcasted by Belqees channel during the month of Ramadan for 2022.
