In order to support her three children, Om Faris sells samosas. She makes them fresh at home, then sells then outside of her children’s school in Ibb. Om Faris’s daily income is between 500-800 riyals, not nearly enough to support her family. Om Faris often fails to sell the number of samosas, which prompts her to send her son to sell them on the street after his evening studies. She shared that she sometimes eats only one meal a day with her children.
Tawakkol Karman Foundation has provided Om Faris with a store and equipped it with cooking equipment, utensils, shelves, and a solar energy system to sell falafel and sandwiches in addition to other food products.
Om Fares told "Haith Al-Insan" program, which is broadcast on Belqees channel during the month of Ramadan, that this project was a distant dream, and when she wakes up now and remembers that she has this project, she is overwhelmed with joy. The shop project is part of Tawakkol Karman Foundation's development program "Haith Al-Insan", which is presented by Belqees channel during the month of Ramadan.
