Karman to speak at Nobel Prize Dialogue on decision-making
Human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate is set to participate in the Nobel Prize Dialogue Sydney 2024, where she will deliver a keynote speech during the session titled "The Future of Decision-Making."
Organized by the Nobel Prize organization, this event will take place on October 24, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:15 PM AEDT at the Sir John Clancy Auditorium, UNSW Kensington, and online.
In her address, Karman will explore the pressing challenges facing global decision-making, particularly the factors contributing to the decline of democracy worldwide. She will highlight the urgent need to find effective solutions to end conflicts and wars, promoting pathways to lasting peace.
Karman will also address the increasing influence of artificial intelligence on decision-making processes and discuss strategies for enhancing collective decision-making across diverse cultures, geographies, and generations.
A number of Nobel laureates will participate in the dialogue, along with other regional and international experts, including Nobel laureates in physics Saul Perlmutter, Brian Schmidt, and comedian, actor, composer, songwriter, pianist, and director Tim Minchin.
This gathering aims to foster meaningful discussions on how to navigate the complexities of decision-making in an era marked by geopolitical tensions and technological advancements.
