Nobel laureate takes part in CAS
Today, Thursday, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning human rights activist, Tawakkol Karman, took part in the opening of the Climate Adaptation Summit (CAS) at the invitation of former UN Secretary-General, who is also the chairman of the Global Commission on Adaptation, Ban Ki-moon.
During the summit, Tawakkol Karman gave a speech, saying that the earth is about to die as a result of a vicious cycle destroying its biological and ecological diversity.
In view of the destruction of the climate, Karman indicated, there are no serious and effective efforts on a global level, nor on a national level for most countries of the world, to stop the deterioration.
She also stressed that facing the challenges of global climate change requires maximum efforts and joint cooperation on the part of all countries, as well as effective international responses.
