TKF purchases 4 ambulances to rescue the wounded in Taiz
The health sector in Yemen is in a dire state. The ongoing conflict in the country has exacerbated people's suffering, with elevated levels of malnutrition among children, low immunization rates, and the spread of communicable diseases. In addition to the lack of human resources, pieces of equipment, and fuel supplies constitute an obstacle in the way of providing health care services.
Taiz is a city that has been under the brunt of war for six years, armed conflicts are gradually increasing the number of victims, and this situation makes it difficult to rescue the wounded in addition to the sick, especially those with chronic diseases such as kidney failure or cancer.
Amid the division between the parties to the conflict and the cutting of most of its road networks, its inhabitants. Especially those who live in the countryside and are forced to take alternative, rugged roads. Old cars no longer meet the purpose of transportation in these complex and dangerous road networks, which makes many people die desperately on the road before being transferred to hospitals, and the rest were left with great economic and psychological burdens, in addition to the burden of their diseases.
In response to the increasing calls for assistance this year and as part of the ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis in Taiz, Yemen, TKF purchased four ambulances to transport the wounded and sick in the city, and this comes within the various activities carried out by the Foundation in the field of health, especially in conflict areas.
