Tawakkol Karman Foundation opens disability rehab center in Ma'rib

Tawakkol Karman Foundation has taken a step towards supporting the disabled community in Ma'rib by establishing a rehabilitation center.

. The Tawakkol Karman Foundation has taken a step towards supporting the disabled community in the Yemeni governorate of Ma'rib by establishing a rehabilitation center. Previously, a group of disabled individuals started a project focused on training and rehabilitating people with special needs for employment opportunities. However, the project was in danger of collapsing due to their inability to afford the rent for the training building. To address this issue, Tawakkol Karman Foundation's Haith Al-Insan team constructed the city's first specialized center, comprising three halls with their respective facilities. This center will offer training and rehabilitation services to approximately 800 people with disabilities.

Tawakkol Karman Foundation Supports Sign Language Education Initiative (Aden, Yemen)

Tawakkol Karman Foundation has equipped the premises of a sign language teaching initiative, "Hun," located in the building of the “Deaf Care and Rehabilitation Society” in Aden.

The initiative was launched by a group of girls with hearing impairments to help alleviate the suffering of other girls who struggle to communicate with others due to their hearing disability. The initiative aims to improve the communication abilities of the deaf, and enable them to be active members of their community. Tawakkol Karman Foundation's support has helped furnish the premises of the initiative, providing necessary educational supplies to ensure its continuity, and enabling people with disabilities to learn in a better environment.

Tawakkol Karman Foundation hosts launching event for fifth batch of 'Leaders for Future' scholarship

On Saturday, January 28, 2023, Tawakkol Karman Foundation hosted the launching event of 'Leaders for Future' Scholarship in its fifth batch. Out of 21,000 applicants, 3,000 young men and women from 13 different nationalities were accepted for the grant.

3000 applicants from 13 countries have been accepted into the fifth batch of “Leaders for Future” program

On January 19, 2023, Tawakkol Karman Foundation announced the candidates for the fifth batch of “Leaders for Future” Scholarship, which aims to qualify empowered and open-minded youth who believe in dialogue and seek to promote the values of coexistence and peace.

Out of 21,234, the foundation team chose 3,000 applicants from Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Palestine, Egypt, Sudan, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, Somalia, and Türkiye.
The scholarship, funded by Tawakkol Karman Foundation, includes three main tracks:

The first track is teaching English in order to obtain TOEFL or IELTS certificate.
The second track; Career skills training courses that help the program’s beneficiaries master self-development and administrative tools that allow them to compete in the job market and develop their careers.
The third track includes courses on democracy and peacebuilding, which provides training, lectures, and workshops to promote the values of democracy and peacebuilding among the program's beneficiaries.

The program is held on-campus for those in Istanbul and online for those outside Istanbul, at a rate of 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. The program aims to qualify young people to help them meet the admission requirements of top universities and obtain job opportunities.
