Tawakkol Karman Foundation’s university scholarships continue to open doors for young people who turn educational opportunities into stories of achievement. Among the Foundation’s 2026 graduates are Asmaa Al-Nadhar, Fatima Muthanna and Khawlah Al-Jaradi, whose academic journeys took them to Türkiye, Egypt and Bangladesh. Though their fields and experiences differed, they shared the same determination to excel and build a better future.
Their stories are part of Tawakkol Karman Foundation’s university scholarship program, which has awarded dozens of scholarships since its launch, enabling students to pursue bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees across a wide range of disciplines and countries. The program reflects the Foundation’s commitment to expanding access to education and helping students continue their academic journeys.
Asmaa Al-Nadhar: From academic excellence to data analytics
Asmaa Al-Nadhar’s story of academic achievement began during her school years in Yemen, where she ranked among the country’s top high school students. A scholarship from Tawakkol Karman Foundation later gave her the opportunity to begin her university education in Türkiye.
She studied economics at Altınbaş University, graduating first in her class. Her undergraduate research was also accepted for support by Türkiye’s Scientific and Technological Research Council, TÜBİTAK.
Asmaa continued her studies and, in 2026, earned a master’s degree in data analytics and management from Bahçeşehir University. Her thesis examined the sustainability of NGO projects in fragile contexts, with a focus on projects implemented by Tawakkol Karman Foundation through its Haith Al-Insan program.
“The scholarship was more than educational support. It was an opportunity that changed the course of my life and enabled me to continue my education and pursue my academic ambitions,” Asmaa said.
She now hopes to put her skills to work professionally while continuing her academic journey toward a doctoral degree.
Fatima Muthanna: Voice that became a journey of excellence
For Fatima Muthanna, the journey began with a passion for singing and a determination to overcome the social challenges she faced, driven by the belief that her voice carried a message worth hearing.
A Tawakkol Karman Foundation scholarship enabled her to study singing at the Higher Institute of Arabic Music at Egypt’s Academy of Arts. She ranked first throughout her five years of study and graduated in 2026 with honors.
Fatima describes the scholarship’s impact simply: “It was the dream of my life, and it came true.”
In a message to the Foundation, she added: “You planted a seed, and its harvest was excellence. My degree, distinction and ranking are what I can offer you as an expression of my gratitude.”
Khawlah Algaradi: Path toward artificial intelligence
In Bangladesh, Khawlah Algaradi pursued her education despite financial pressures, the challenges of living abroad and the adjustment to a new environment. A scholarship from Tawakkol Karman Foundation gave her the opportunity to study computer science at the Asian University for Women.
During her studies, Khawlah strengthened her academic and technical skills and developed a particular interest in artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science. Her graduation research project also focused on these fields.
“Tawakkol Karman Foundation’s scholarship was a genuine turning point in my life. It gave me the opportunity to fulfill my dream of attending university and opened new horizons for my academic and professional growth,” Khawlah said.
After graduating in 2026, she hopes to build a career in artificial intelligence and data science, pursue postgraduate studies and apply her knowledge to developing technological solutions that benefit society.
Educational opportunities become success stories
The stories of Asmaa, Fatima and Khawlah reflect the breadth of academic paths supported by Tawakkol Karman Foundation’s university scholarships, spanning economics and data analytics, music and the arts, and computer science and artificial intelligence.
Since the program began, the Foundation has awarded dozens of university scholarships across a variety of disciplines and countries, covering bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies. The initiative is rooted in the Foundation’s belief in education as a means of empowering young people and expanding the possibilities available to them.
For these three members of the 2026 graduating class, access to education met ambition and perseverance, turning opportunity into academic achievement and opening the way to new chapters in their lives.
