Tawakkol Karman Foundation Builds Water Tank (Shabwa, Yemen)
Tawakkol Karman Foundation has implemented a project to construct a water tank in Al-Hajr area of Shabwa Governorate in Yemen.
For nearly four decades, the local residents tried to address the problem of water supply by digging a well near the area, but the project was halted eight years ago.
As the population increased, the suffering of the area's residents intensified, particularly the children who had to transport water from nearby wells in plastic containers, while low-income families struggled to cover the cost of transporting water by tankers.
Tawakkol Karman Foundation’s Haith Al-Insan team executed a project to build a water tank with a capacity of one hundred cubic meters in the area, putting an end to the suffering of the residents that lasted for decades.
