Tawakkol Karman Foundation has established a weaving workshop in the city of Ja'ar, located in Abiyan Governorate.

The workshop has been handed over to beneficiary Yaser, a local resident who has been working in the craft of Ma'awuz weaving since childhood.

Due to his family's financial circumstances, Yaser had to leave his profession and start working on a motorcycle owned by a relative to support his family of eight.

Given Yaser's vast experience in weaving, design, and sewing machine maintenance, Haith Al-Insan team at Tawakkol Karman Foundation decided to establish a weaving workshop for him. This will allow him and his mother to return to their beloved craft and work in it again.

The workshop will provide many job opportunities for men and women from the area.
